Abdussabur in 1989 in Newark New Jersey, Mek is arguably one of the most
lyrically poetic artist of his generation. Emerging in the wake of
legends such as Redman, Nas, Jay-Z, & Beanie Segal, his artistry was
established in the era of the early 90s where making a classic record weighed
more on the ability to paint a picture with words. He began refining his
own unique sound by fusing conceptual vocabulary & lines that build the
imagery fresh out of his perspective. Combining emotional subject matter,
metaphors, double entendre's, and a full sense of sincerity, Mek is a true poet
in the art of lyric writing for the hip hop genre.
