Spell Jordan’s debut LP, Fishing, fills the void of lyrical hip-hop in the DMV. Drawing inspiration from the engineering and production on Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book and Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo, Fishing is described as a mesh of ambient sounds, slow bangers, and powerful features.
The LP sits at 36 minutes, composed of 12 tracks from 9 producers, with engineering assistance from Gabey Baby, Zalenka and Netscape at Night. Producer Saint Hologram returns on the LP, producing 3 tracks: Oh Ah, Monster, and Crooked Frame // Outro. Spell Jordan’s frequent collaborator Daf joins in on Paparazzi [prod. DJHUITS] and Greg Schiano [prod. Gabey Baby].
