Taken From Forthcoming 'OOM VELT' EP
Out 25th August Digitally & Ltd Edition 12" White Vinyl
"a delicately-crafted anthem shrouded in disguise, nuances spread across a broad canvas. It’s a captivating addition to their body of work, and they remain one of the most enticing prospects around." - The Line of Best Fit

"“Holy Soul” exhibits the scope of Salt Cathedral’s style, a balladic take on their otherworldly synth-pop." - Pigeons & Planes

"While their style of electronic-minded and darkly-shaded pop is quite in vogue, Salt Cathedral manages to feel vital and fresh rather than purely trendy." - Consequence of Sound

"Sounds like maybe Purity Ring meets Wet meets drinking watermelon juice while a bamboo wind chime does its thing" - The Fader

Salt Cathedral is a Brooklyn-based electronic band, comprising of Nicolas Losada and Juliana Ronderos, both of whom originally hail from Bogota, Colombia.

Tease” is the lead single from their forthcoming EP, OOM VELT, due out August 2014. In their sophomore release, Losada and Ronderos saturate their nimble tempos with bright, kaleidoscopic electronics. Entirely self-produced, OOM VELT is exquisite pop futurism –– a beguiling alchemy of spectral vocals and transnational rhythms.

Salt Cathedral has shared the stage with the likes of Tinariwen, Hundred Waters, Young and Sick and Freelance Whales. Most recently, the band toured the US with Cibo Matto in support of their 2014 album, “Hotel Valentine.” This month, Salt Cathedral embarked on a four city tour of Japan to celebrate the international release of their first, self-titled EP.

OOM VELT will be released in August digitally and as a Limited Edition 12” White Vinyl with album artwork created by the renowned New York visual artist, and long-time collaborator, Micci Cohan
