Releases his 2nd studio album to prepare to move forward as solo artist.

Bay Area, Northern California. Anticipate a balance of lyric and beats sans the bling, drug talk and money rap. The overly saturated word SWAG will not appear in this album even once we promise. The genuine article. The tone of the album is eclectic, ranging from old school boom bap to ambient soul. The lyrics are honest and original with a focus on clarity over the use of double entendres. “My cypher syphons ignorance right out of my psyche, if ya harboring hate you ain’t nothing like me” he says on, I Never Slept(Cuts by DJ World Wise). Ugly as Envy features the local talents of Knobody & CAM and includes the production of The Beathoven, Barry Bones, Black Doug and Ology all producers from California. 

This album was culmination current works and music not previously released to the public. With major lifestyle changes he has underwent in the past few years DESwon wanted to complete all past projects before embarking on the next chapter in his life. DESwon is a local Bay Area, CA artist by way of Tyler TX.  He has performed and created music for the past ten years with the group Poeticali Distherbd and for a short time with the band Omina out of Sacramento. DESwon(poeticali distherbd) has opened for KRSONE, J-Live, Blackalicious, Camp Lo, Special Ed and Big Daddy Kane to name a few.
