King Of Paper Chasin' is on Showtime,HBO, On Demand For Viewing

As DL continues to make a mark in the entertainment industry, he recently released his new album which is also serves as the soundtrack to the film. The latest project “King Of Paper Chasin’” (K.O.P.C.) is a look inside the life and mind of the Queens, NY rapper. Inspired by the semi-bio feature film with the same title, DL starts the album with a 2 minute intro (sampled from the movie) that ironically states “I’m not a rapper…” It doesn’t take long to understand why DL makes such a claim. When the first track “SelfMade” comes on, DL’s hustler mentality is quickly personified. The album continues to pound that message home with cuts like “Triplebeam Theme” and “Off Da Books” but also gives a healthy dose of party records as well with the cuts “Good 2 B Here,” “Keep It Goin” and “Throw it On Me.” To be truthful and forthcoming to his fans, DL felt it only right to also show his vulnerable side on K.O.P.C.. Whether with the songs “Longshot” where he talks about a rough childhood and the recent loss of his younger sister or “Ur Da Won” where he describes his commitment and relationship to his significant other, DL’s attempt to invite us into his world is clear. “I want to be as transparent as I can for my fans so they know I’m no different than them. I have my good days and my bad days like everyone else.” It’s one of the reasons DL gives back to his community with his participation in various programs in his hometown of Queens. It’s there he helps to ensure that the inner city kids can avoid some of the same pitfalls and traps he encountered.
